Reduce Energy Usage and Save Money
The City of West Haven aims to increase participation in residential energy efficiency programs by five percent, with a particular emphasis on income eligible and 5+ unit buildings.
This campaign is part of the broader Energize CT SM initiative and is funded through the Community Partnership Initiative, sponsored locally by United Illuminating (UI) and Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG) to increase participation in energy efficiency programs. To help achieve these sustainability goals, the City has teamed up with New England Smart Energy, a utility-authorized contractor, to offer Home Energy SolutionsSM and the Multifamily Initiative to West Haven residents.
During this assessment and service, a contractor will review your property’s energy performance, implement on-the-spot improvements, and make recommendations for additional ways to save energy and money year-round. To help you make smart energy choices, your recommendations will include information on rebates and financing along with payback and investment information specific to your property.
The on-the-spot improvements include a health and safety check, a comprehensive energy report, and energy-savings measures, including air sealing and installation of water-saving devices.
You may qualify for this energy assessment at no-cost or for a $75 copay, which may be eligible for reimbursement if qualifying upgrades are installed.
