Join in the GreenUp Avon Initiative
The Avon Clean Energy Commission (ACEC) was established by the Avon Town Council in 2008 to promote the adoption of energy efficient and sustainable practices by the Town and Board of Education, residents, and local businesses. Our activities focus on long-term planning, infrastructure improvement projects, and community outreach and programming.
Over the last several years, the Commission has encouraged residents to participate in the Energize CT Home Energy SolutionsSM program through our GreenUp Avon initiative. We are pleased to partner with New England Smart Energy (NESE) to further our goal of XX participation in the program by XXXX!
As a utility-authorized contractor, NESE performs home energy assessments and follow-up weatherization upgrades that help Avon residents reduce energy usage, save money, and improve the safety and comfort of their homes.
After you sign up, a contractor will review your home’s energy performance, implement on-the-spot improvements, and show you how to save money and energy year-round. The visit includes a blower door test, a health and safety check, a comprehensive energy report, and instant savings measures, including air sealing and installation of water-saving devices. Plus, you’ll also learn about applicable Energize CT rebates, incentives, and financing options.
This service is offered at no cost for income-eligible residents and for a $75 co-pay for all other customers. The average value of the products and services received is $950, and the average household saves $180 per year after the initial visit, and even more if additional weatherization recommendations are completed!
