Reduce Energy Usage and Save Money
Live Green CT, a longtime supporter of community sustainability efforts across Connecticut and 2026 Energize ConnecticutSM Community Partner, is proud to launch Heat Healthy—a program designed to increase participation in the Home Energy Solutions℠ and Home Energy Solutions – Income Eligible programs, supported by the Sponsors of Energize CT.
Through this initiative, Live Green CT will work closely with the City of Bridgeport and community partners to educate residents on the benefits of residential weatherization and connect eligible households with valuable energy-saving services. We are excited to partner with New England Smart Energy (NESE), an authorized contractor for the Energize CT programs, to reach our goal of 364 completed assessments by the end of 2026.
NESE provides home energy assessments and follow-up weatherization services that help Bridgeport residents lower energy usage, save money, and improve home comfort and safety.
During your assessment, NESE will evaluate your home’s energy performance and offer personalized, energy-saving opportunities. They will also conduct a blower door test to identify air leaks, along with important health and safety checks. The visit concludes with a summary of findings, upgrade recommendations and next steps, all discussed right at your kitchen table.
This service is offered at no cost to income-eligible residents and is available to all other residents for a small co-pay. The average value of the products and services provided is $1,000, and participating households save up to $70-$100 per year on energy bills—with even greater savings when follow-up insulation is completed.
