Home Energy Solutions (HES)
Home Energy Solutions is an energy efficiency improvement program available to most Connecticut residents through Energize Connecticut.
For a $75 co-pay, you’ll get:
- Energy audit and blower door test
- Air sealing to stop drafts
- Duct sealing (if you have forced air HVAC)
- Hot water pipe wrap, faucet aerators, and low-flow showerheads (if needed)
- Insulation inspection
- Health and safety checks
- Energy-saving tips tailored to your home
- Access to rebates and financing for insulation, new windows, heat pumps, and more.
For that $75 co-pay, most homeowners receive around $850 in services and save $180 on their energy costs every year.
Who Qualifies for Home Energy Solutions?
All residential customers of Eversource, UI, CNG, and SCG are eligible for Home Energy Solutions as long as you haven’t received program services in the past 6 years.

Home Energy Solutions-Income Eligible (HES-IE)
Through the HES-IE program, income-eligible homeowners can receive everything the HES program offers at no cost. You’ll also get access to additional incentives for energy-saving home improvements, including up to 100% off an insulation upgrade and no-cost heat pumps.
Who Qualifies for HES-IE?
Residential customers of Eversource, UI, CNG, and SCG with a combined household income below 60% of the area median income are eligible for the HES-IE program.
