The goal of this Smart Energy Fundraising program is to enable Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust to raise money in a way that benefits both the organization and its donors. We feel this provides an ideal balance, a “win-win” that still keeps with the ‘Spirit of Giving’.

Here’s how it works: New England Smart Energy Group conducts Home Energy Solutions (HES) services for homeowners who are eligible, to receive up to $700+ in “energy related” products and services paid for by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF). For a co-pay of only $75, this fund-raising program provides HES services to the homeowner, and donates $50 to Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust as a referral fee, for every HES service conducted as part of the program.

Neighborhood Solutions

Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust (BNT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of families with modest means by creating safe, affordable, healthy homes in the greater Bridgeport area.

Since 1986, BNT’s mission has been to strengthen communities by embracing a comprehensive revitalization approach through advocacy, education, investment, and technical support.  To meet this challenge, BNT develops affordable housing, creates healthy homes with a focus on lead remediation, and provides comprehensive homeownership counseling for low-income families.  Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust is proud to be developing Bridgeport’s first green affordable homes. Located on Holly Street, two new duplexes will demonstrate cost effective and replicable construction practices. By reducing energy costs, the improvements are expected to pay for themselves within a five-year period, helping to make homeownership both more affordable and sustainable for low-income families.

You are encouraged to actively participate in this fundraiser by canvassing friends, family and neighbors. Please tell your friends and family about this fundraiser by clicking, Tell your friends. No money needs to change hands and New England Smart Energy will call the homeowner to confirm and to book the appointment (Connecticut only).

Support this cause, fight climate change and save money at the same time.

Due to potential high customer participation and program oversubscription, we reserve the right to restrict services so we can include homes that need the most help. This program is subject to change based on available funding. Filling out this form does not automatically qualify you for the Home Energy Services (HES) program. If your home is selected, you will be notified via letter or telephone. An authorized adult must be present during the assessment and provide access to the premises. Click here for a printable copy.
